Jonni Lavertu is a Canadian visual artist noted for his prolific and diverse body of work that includes both realist and impressionist landscapes, candid portraiture, and street scenes in mixed media. The macro beauty of the prairie and mountains feature strongly in his Alberta landscapes.
Based in Calgary, Jonni completed his training at the Alberta College of Art & Design. His refreshing passion for play, colour and for evoking the delightful in our everyday surroundings form the basis of his vision and his work. His painting, Yellowknife Bay, won third place in the Calgary Stampede Western Scenes competition in 2014. His paintings are currently housed in private collections throughout Canada.
Jonni Lavertu is a respected carpenter and homebuilder sought after throughout the area for unusual and difficult projects. A dedicated father who returned to fine art painting in 2009, he is also an avid hockey player, skateboarder and snowboarder.
